Flashing LT15a generic rom on Xperia Arc purchased from Rogers Canada

Since my Xperia Arc purchased from Rogers Canada was carrier-locked, I was not able to unlock bootloader by the method offered by Sony Ericsson.
Determined to get rid of the Rogers logo which appears when turning the device on, I used the method kindly offered by XDA gurus at the URL below.

*** As a reminder, do this at your own decision and risk should you decide to do it.

Upon completion of flashing the generic LT15a rom, the Rogers logo was successfully eliminated, along with the Rogers bloatwares.
I believe the method above only allows Xperia roms to be installed on Xperia devices, which means that other roms, for example, vanilla Gingerbread 2.3.3 or HTC roms cannot be flashed on Xperia devices.
In other words, the bootloader remains locked on Xperia Arc.

Then, I used Gingerbreak V1.20 to root the device afterwards.
